WHO ARE WE?
Founded in 1974, ALSPEC is an independent and wholly Australian owned company primarily involved in the distribution of aluminium semi-fabricated products. Over the past quarter century the company has grown to become a leader in it’s field, with an Australia-wide distribution network which now employs more than 200 people, an increasing number of whom are shareholders in the business.
ABOUT OUR COMPANY
The company specialises in the supply of aluminium extrusions, systems, rolled products and accessories, particularly to the home improvement and architectural markets. Preference is given at all times to local suppliers, but where necessary, product is drawn globally from such diverse areas as the Middle East, Asia and North America. Astute management and careful planning have resulted in extensive growth. The company is financially strong and able to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. Day to day operations are assisted by the latest in computerised business management systems which enhance the company’s ability to provide solutions and personalised service. In the mid 90’s, through continuing development of warehouse systems and subsequent monitoring, the major Sydney warehouse achieved Quality Endorsement to Standards Australia ISO 9001 (License 5699), an achievement that has assisted all branches of the company in their drive to maintain the highest standards of service. ALSPEC faces the future with a confidence born of preparation, a pioneer spirit and a thorough understanding that change is inevitable but declining standards are not.

ALSPEC has worked hard to achieve the status of providing the level of “superior value” required by industry in today’s economic conditions. The basic criteria for personalised service are a continually expanding and relevant product base, reliable and rapid delivery service, competitive pricing and total awareness of customer needs. “Just in Time” service requirements are a specialty. ALSPEC is constantly keeping an eye to the future and continually reshaping itself by using the vast array of modern technology available today. Customers are encouraged to become active “partners for growth” in this ongoing evolution. A joint effort in “Creating the Future”. The company has long recognised the vital role suppliers play in serving its customer base. To this end, strong ties have been established with all major suppliers and, in turn, ALSPEC has become a major customer with attendant supply advantages and is an authorised national distributor of such prestigious manufacturers as: CAPRAL, CRANE, HUNTER DOUGLAS, SARLON & LOCKWOOD-WHITCO. To ensure maximum flexibility and provision of optimum personalised service, the company runs its own fleet of delivery vehicles from each branch servicing both local and country customers. To assist the demanding schedules of customers, the company’s facilities are manned from 7.00am up to 6.00pm each day. Depending on stock availability, next day delivery is provided. Pick-up, together with “cash and carry” facilities at all branches, are continually upgraded to ensure customer needs are met with minimum delay. ALSPEC believes that to maintain and enhance its reputation for personalised service, it must continue to perform, to place changing customer needs first, and maintain close communications to provide a “total quality service” by delivering superior value.
OBJECTIVES
The chief objectives of Aluminium Specialities are to excel in service to its customers and to continue to expand its pre-eminent position as a leader in the Australian aluminium distribution industry. In achieving this goal, the company recognises the following responsibilities:
