INEX Australia is proud to announce the expansion in their extrusion capacity through a major new investment in an extrusion plant in the greater Brisbane area in 2011.
This investment is to further supplement the existing production facility in Dandenong, Melbourne, which is currently running at capacity.
The investment in latest extrusion technology has been made possible through the sale of an interest in INEX Australia to ALSPEC. The combined requirements of ALSPEC and our associated company, AWS, supply us with the critical volume that ensures the profitability of this new plant.
The new facility will support the interests of our customers by further strengthening a fully integrated supply chain strategy together with improved regional coverage. In addition it will remove some current logistical issues while containing costs, reducing business risk and our shareholder customers' dependency on other suppliers.
The new facility will be purpose-built and construction is currently underway on premises to house both the extrusion plant and two new aluminium distribution facilities for ALSPEC and AWS. These will all be co-located on adjacent sites at Jutland Street in Loganlea.
The extrusion plant will have a 2,500mt short stroke, UBE press incorporating the latest Japanese technical engineering advancements. This press will be installed with twin induction heaters from IAS in Germany and handling equipment, including a double puller, flying cut saw and dual ageing ovens, from OMAV in Italy.
