South Brisbane’s rising skyline has been further enhanced with the addition of a striking new two-tower residential development, the "Ivy and Eve". Adjacent to the busy business area and close to Brisbane’s many attractions, the development is setting a new benchmark in high quality residential buildings thanks to the incorporation of products from Alspec’s extensive range of window and door framing solutions.

Completed earlier this year, the two 30-storey buildings include nearly 500 apartments. The pair of towers meet at a shared podium level, which is home to an extensive recreation deck with a lap pool, cinema, dining areas, beach huts, play rooms and a gym. Meanwhile an extensive “green wall cloaks the podium’s exterior.

With each apartment designed to maximise the panoramic city views, window and door solutions were selected from across the Alspec range, based on their individual qualities. Alspec’s signature high performance products, designed originally for the commercial environment, lend themselves to the residential situation as they provide long term, durable performance. Their flexibility to incorporate different glazing widths and glass types also means they can minimise any acoustic concerns, ensuring the ongoing comfort of residents.

To meet the various door requirements, products selected included the Hawkesbury Commercial Multi Fold Door, the ProGlide High Performance Sliding Door and the Swan Evo 45mm Single Glazed Commercial Door. Each product’s unique properties determined where they were most appropriate to be used. For example, the ProGlide Sliding doors, with their heavy duty capability to span expansive openings, were utilised to give residents maximum access to their generous balconies.

Alongside key window framing products from the Hunter Evo and McArthur Evo ranges, the high-end ecoFRAMEplus 150mm product was also incorporated. These double glazed centre pocket window frames were selected based on their superior specifications, designed to meet heavy duty structural requirements while providing optimal energy efficiency. Given the building’s location, another important element was the incorporation of View-Max Commercial Sliding Windows. View-Max windows provide a high performance solution in terms of weather, thermal and acoustic properties, while ensuring residents maximise their appreciation of the panoramic views.

With its resort like atmosphere and extensive sophisticated glazing solutions, the Ivy and Eve provides an exciting new location from which city dwellers will be able to appreciate the best of urban residential living.
