With every apartment enjoying expansive Fitzroy River views, this boutique development in Rockhampton has been perfectly orientated to capitalise on this desirable location. All 12 of Skyview’s open-plan apartments are orientated towards the sweeping north-south river views, with residents able to enjoy the outlook from both living room and master bedroom balconies.

Given Rockhampton’s location within Cyclone Region C, with the potential for tropical cyclones with winds over 125 km/hour, the framing and glazing products selected for this development needed to meet or exceed the required Australian Standards for the area. The Alspec window and framing product with the right credentials was the McArthur Centre Pocket Framing. The McArthur system is a centre pocket style of framing which is capable of handling the high wind loads anticipated in this region. To provide visual interest, the window and door framing was finished in contrasting Interpon Custom Black powder coating. Like the aluminium framing, the Interpon powder coating is also certified to meet the performance standards required in cyclonic regions.

The outdoor areas are accessed through a combination of Alspec’s Altitude High Performance Sliding Windows, Swan Evo Commercial Doors and ProGlide High Performance Sliding Doors. All three types of sliding doors respond to the latest in architectural residential trends with their clean lines and visual appeal, while featuring the quality and durability stemming from their origins in the commercial environment.

EndurAl balustrades were selected to frame each apartment’s river-facing balconies. EndurAl’s credentials make it the only ‘Deemed to Satisfy’ (DTS) system on the market that is fully tested in accordance with AS1170.1 to meet the demands of this cyclonic region. Specifically engineered to provide safe and secure balcony balustrades which maximise views, in this build a two-sided vertical support option was selected with a standoff handrail.

With the leafy parkland and serene Fitzroy River across the road, and Rockhampton’s CBD just a short walk away, this high-end development is setting a new standard in boutique apartment living.
