Latitude25 RV Lifestyle Community, Hervey Bay, QLD

A large multi-purpose facility called The Clubhouse is the popular new hub of a lifestyle community near Hervey Bay in Queensland.

A newly completed multi-purpose venue is set to become the heart of the community at this growing lifestyle village near Hervey Bay in Queensland. The recently opened “Clubhouse” at Latitude25 RV Lifestyle Community forms the hub of the 20 ha development which is being built to cater for the active over 50s residential market.

Opened in September 2019, the Clubhouse and wellness centre includes entertaining areas, kitchen and bar facilities, an outdoor terrace, games room, library, billiards rooms and meeting rooms for use by residents, along with consulting rooms available for visiting health and beauty practitioners.

Architects Bickerton Masters designed the building and specified Alspec window and door framing solutions to fulfil the window glazing and door requirements. These were then fabricated by local firm Jack’s Glass, to deliver the resulting attractive double-height glass facades of the venue. Two of Alspec’s high performance framing products were selected – Ecowall225 and Hunter Evo flush glazed framing. Ecowall225 is a complete structural system ideal for high-ceiling applications such as building entrances, foyers and showrooms. The reinforced subheads, mullion anti-buckling technology and self-draining sub sills make them a high performance, all-weather solution for this type of building. The Hunter Evo framing is one of Alspec’s most popular products owing to its flush-glazed finish and versatility, being able to be fitted alongside a large range of doors and windows from across the Alspec range.

Inside the building, an interesting and practical feature was created using a hybrid of two Alspec products to deliver large-span cavity sliding doors. Constructed from a combination of Swan Evo and Hawkesbury top hung door products, two large panelled sliding doors glide effortlessly across the entrances to the main interior dining space, while tucking away out of sight into the wall cavity when not in use.

With the completion of this building, the lifestyle community now has a multi-purpose venue which will easily accommodate its growing leisure and recreation needs as the village’s planned 280 homes are eventually built and occupied.
