This one-stop-shop medical centre is proving popular with both local residents and medical professionals, providing access to a comprehensive range of medical services in northwest NSW.

Part of Northwest Health, the East Tamworth Medical centre has been designed to accommodate 20 consulting rooms and supporting services. To date medical services include general practitioners and a range of specialists such as pathology, dietetics, psychology, dentistry and diagnostic imaging (x-ray and ultrasound). Supporting services include a pharmacy, childcare centre and café.

An important part of making the centre safe and secure, while being comfortable and welcoming, was the selection of window and door framing products from across Alspec’s proven-performance commercial ranges. McArthur Evo Centre Pocket Framing, Hunter Evo Flush Glazed Framing and Torrens 45mm Commercial Doors were used to ensure the facility would be attractive, while having the credentials to meet the high performance demands of the facility.

McArthur Evo Centre Pocket Framing provides an attractive and secure glazed façade for this type of complex. The versatile system is available in two frame depths, 101.6 and 150mm x 44.5mm, and is easy to fabricate and install. The centre-pocket framing, where the glass is slid into a “pocket” created by the aluminium frame, results in a secure and visually appealing façade, requiring less glazing beads.

Meanwhile, Hunter Evo Flush Glazed Framing is also a versatile system, popular for shop front environments. The 101.6mm x 50mm profile can accommodate glazing up to 4.2m high, the 150mm x 50mm option up to 4.5m, and both can cover widths up to 2.4m, making the system suitable for the diverse configurations required in a large facility such as this.6mm Frame 150mm Frame

For access needs across the complex, Torrens 45mm Commercial Doors were selected. These durable doors can be used in a hinged, pivoted or sliding applications, making them easily deployed to suit the multiple types of uses at the facility. They can accommodate a range of glass thicknesses up to 10.38mm single glazed and 28mm double glazed, and can accommodate a range of locks, handles and door closers as best suited to each location.

Constructed by local Tamworth builder Formline Group, the multi-million dollar complex was selected as a finalist in the Urban Development Institute of Australia NSW Crown Group Awards for Excellence in 2019.
