Soaring high above the Gold Coast streetscape, this new hotel has taken Alspec’s window and door framing products to new heights. In one of their tallest construction projects to date, Alspec’s aluminium glazing solutions have been used to encase the 53-levels of the recently completed Dorsett Gold Coast Hotel.

Located on Broadbeach Island in The Star Gold Coast entertainment precinct, the Dorsett includes over 300 hotel guest rooms on the lower levels and more than 400 residential apartments on the upper levels. At ground level, the Dorsett connects directly to the Star Casino along a food and beverage promenade, while on Level 6 guests have access to a leisure-orientated outdoor recreation area including pools and bars. VIP guests enjoy access to an exclusive Level 19 Executive Lounge with panoramic views of the Gold Coast.

To optimise the expansive hinterland and ocean views from the hotel rooms, Alspec’s Hunter Evo 150 Double Flush Glazed Framing was adopted. As one of Alspec’s most versatile products, the Hunter Evo 150 can accommodate a range of double glazed glass thickness options to deliver superior energy and acoustic performance. These qualities, along with the contemporary appearance delivered by the flush finish, made the Hunter Evo ideal for this elegant exterior.

For access to the balconies of the Deluxe and Executive rooms, ProGlide High-Performance Sliding Doors were incorporated in both standard and corner-less post configurations. ProGlide doors were developed specially to meet the heavy operating demands of commercial environments, incorporating heavy-duty rollers and robust componentry.

In the commercial and retail sections of the hotel, Hawkesbury Multi-Fold Doors were installed to facilitate integrated indoor-outdoor areas. Able to accommodate a large floor to ceiling heights, the Hawkesbury doors utilise a top-rolling mechanism and concealed floor guides. They particularly suit commercial perimeter framing due to their effortless operation across large spaces and the secure and weathertight barrier they provide when closed.

For hinged or pivoted door requirements across the site, Swan Evo 45mm Commercial Doors were used. The adaptable doors feature secure centre pocket glazing and integrate seamlessly with Alspec’s framing ranges, making them an obvious choice to complete the development’s door framing needs.
