This 35-level development uses Alspec’s window and door solutions to provide a desirable new destination for holidaymakers.

Minor Hotel Group (MHG), a hotel owner and operator with a portfolio of 160 hotels and resorts in 26 countries across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe and South America, has expanded its portfolio in Australia with AVANI Broadbeach Residences.

Light-filled apartments and stunning coastal and hinterland views greet guests at the recently opened Avani Broadbeach Residences on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The soaring 35-level development, just metres from popular Broadbeach, has used a full complement of products from Alspec’s extensive window and door solutions to provide a desirable new destination for holidaymakers. Featuring more than 200 suites (one and two bedroom), the complex also includes a ground level bar and restaurant and a podium level which offers facilities for residents such as a 25-metre pool, gymnasium and sun deck.

Each of the apartments includes a balcony accessible from both the living and bedroom areas, with entrance provided through ProGlide High Performance Sliding Doors. ProGlide sliding doors are well suited to the seaside location, thanks to their demonstrated all-weather performance and robust construction. The ProGlide’s floor to ceiling coverage also contributes to the light and welcoming feel of the living areas.

Throughout the complex framing solutions were selected from the Hunter Evo and McArthur systems. The flush-glazed Hunter Evo product was used in multiple configurations (101.6mm single and double glazed and 150mm double glazed) and gives the building its modern, sharp lines. Meanwhile the McArthur 101.6mm framing’s centre-pocket system is also visually appealing, while providing additional security benefits and easily adapting to accept Alspec’s window and door systems.

Windows for the complex were selected from the Murray 50mm and the 35mm Awning Window ranges. The Murray windows are ideal for exposed locations such as near the ocean as they have excellent thermal and acoustic performance qualities. The 35mm Awning Windows have the advantage of overlapping internal and external seals which ensure they cope with potential weather extremes. A range of stays and chain winders can be utilised along with single or double glazing.

At podium level, a combination of the ProGlide and Hawkesbury doors were used to provide access to the expansive sun deck and terrace areas. Both door styles are hardwearing, and will deliver durability in the seaside conditions in the apartment and shared facility areas.

At ground level, Hawkesbury Commercial Multi-fold doors were selected to provide the ability for the new restaurant to be fully open in the perfect Gold Coast weather, and be securely sealed against the elements when closed. The Multi-fold doors were used in conjunction with the ecoFRAMEplus 101.6 double glazed centre pocket window framing, a secure, robust frame which meets energy requirements and provides excellent weathering properties.

With light and views maximised from every level, delivered through Alspec’s high performance framing products, these apartments are the perfect accommodation from which to enjoy this favourite holiday destination.

AVANI Broadbeach Residences is also conveniently located a short stroll from Broadbeach’s walking tracks and lush parklands, as well as the Gold Coast Light Rail tram network, connecting guests with the city’s key activity hubs, such as Surfers Paradise and Southport.
