Alspec window and door framing solutions give the conference centre and hotels a unique look and feel.

Visitors to Brisbane airport now have the added convenience of two new hotels and adjoining conference centre located directly adjacent to the domestic terminal. The new precinct includes the Pullman Hotel and the Ibis Hotel, linked at ground level by the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. A selection of window and door framing solutions have been selected from across the Alspec range, giving each building its own unique look and feel.

The 5-Star Pullman Hotel consists of 132 rooms, a top floor executive club and a premier restaurant. It features extensive floor to ceiling windows throughout ensuring guests can appreciate the expansive district views to the Brisbane CBD, Moreton Bay and beyond. Part of the building’s sleek modern look has been achieved through the use of Hastings 150mm front glazed framing. Instead of the slight recessed look of standard or centre pocket framing, the front glazed application delivers a flush, “sheer wall” appearance.

Meanwhile, the neighbouring 3.5-Star Ibis Hotel, boasts 243 rooms, a stunning rooftop lounge venue and a ground floor café with an indoor-outdoor dining area. In contrast to its neighbour, the Ibis features square windows which have been enhanced with fixed louvre sections on two, three or four sides.  This design helps to minimise heat and glare while assisting with the thermal performance of the building.

At ground level, the Conference Centre includes 11 versatile spaces and the capacity to cater for up to 600 people at any one time. Floor to ceiling windows feature throughout, maximising natural light and making good use of the sound reducing properties of the Hunter Evo 150 mm window framing product. In the fixed application, the double-glazed Hunter Evo is able to span large spaces while providing energy and sound reduction benefits.

Throughout the three facilities a range of Alspec door solutions have been employed including Swan Evo 45mm Commercial Doors (hinged, pivoted or sliding) and ProGlide High Performance Sliding Doors. In addition, Hawkesbury Commercial Multi-Fold Doors were the perfect solution to integrate the open air terrace “break out” area provided for conference attendees.

As the largest conference venue at Brisbane Airport, the combination of these three new facilities with their high-end finishes will offer an attractive and convenient option for the ever-growing number of visitors to the Queensland region.
