The recently completed Ruby Apartments at Surfers Paradise have drawn on the comprehensive range of Alspec window and door framing products to create a new luxury destination for holidaymakers. With a diverse range of needs in the 30-floor holiday complex, the versatility of Alspec’s products has come to the fore, helping to deliver the striking end result.

The Ruby apartment-style hotel is the first of four stages planned for the iconic Surfers Paradise location. Midway between the famous beach and nearby Budds Beach, the area is the subject of a masterplan which will ultimately see the 2.5 ha site transformed into a village-like precinct surrounded by up to 1800 apartments in four towers. Plans include a pedestrian open space precinct, activity playground, supermarket, shops and restaurants, which (subject to approval) should be completed over the next five years.

Meeting the needs of the diverse range of facilities and amenities within the complex required drawing on glazing and door options from several key Alspec ranges: Hawkesbury, ecoFRAMEplus, ProGlide, Hunter Evo, McArthur, Murray and Swan. With apartments, ground floor townhouses, a restaurant, swimming pool and gym areas, the right solution for each was identified from the Alspec suite. For example, the ground-level restaurant utilised Hawkesbury Commercial Multi Fold Doors to enable the indoor and outdoor dining areas to be seamlessly integrated.

On the upper levels, the building’s facades alternate between sections of balconies and sections of flush-glazed windows. Each apartment features a private balcony, accessed through ProGlide High Performance Sliding Doors, which have the durability needed in the high-use hotel environment, while openable 443 awning windows in the glazed façade allow for natural ventilation with the added security of chain winder fasteners. These glazing solutions give every room ample light and fresh air and ensure all can enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean and the Gold Coast hinterland.

These 5-star apartments with their luxury look and feel will no doubt be an instant drawcard for families and holidaymakers looking to enjoy this golden sand and sunshine of this iconic Australian destination.
