Design Vision

Graya’s Managing Director, Rob Gray, emphasised the importance of respecting the historical character of the suburb. The design channels the rich materials and refined geometry associated with classic Art Deco apartments, reinterpreting them for a modern residential audience.

This architectural intent is reflected in:

• Precast concrete panels with subtle curvature and detailing
• Interior palettes of warm timber, fluted glass and natural stone
• A façade composed to balance strength with transparency

The Electro Medium Bronze Flat finish chosen for the façade framing reinforces the project’s luxurious aesthetic while integrating seamlessly with Bureau^Proberts’ contemporary take on Deco sophistication.

Alspec Systems Integration

To ensure York achieved its architectural ambition while delivering performance, comfort, and longevity in Brisbane’s subtropical climate, Crown Windows incorporated a suite of high-performing Alspec systems across the development.

Proglide Sliding Door System

Large-format Proglide doors were selected to maximise natural light and enhance indoor–outdoor connectivity. Their smooth operation and ability to accommodate expansive glass panels support the project’s focus on panoramic views and effortless living.

Awning Window System

Awnings were utilised to promote ventilation while maintaining weather protection—ideal for Brisbane’s warm and humid climate. Their clean, streamlined aesthetic complements the building’s geometry.

Hunter EVO 150mm Single & Double Glazed Systems

The Hunter EVO suite provides structural integrity and design flexibility, allowing for slender sightlines without compromising strength. The combination of SG and DG configurations ensures acoustic comfort, energy efficiency, and compliance with performance requirements across different elevations.

Swan EVO Framing

Used in select areas for its versatility and robust framing profile, Swan EVO supports the clean architectural lines and refined detailing essential to the project’s contemporary expression.
